چکیده

UNLABELLED We present Serial SimCoal, a program that models population genetic data from multiple time points, as with ancient DNA data. An extension of SIMCOAL, it also allows simultaneous modeling of complex demographic histories, and migration between multiple populations. Further, we incorporate a statistical package to calculate relevant summary statistics, which, for the first time allows users to investigate the statistical power provided by, conduct hypothesis-testing with, and explore sample size limitations of ancient DNA data. Coalescence-Time Distributions in a Serial Founder Model of Human Evolutionary History

Simulation studies have demonstrated that a variety of patterns in worldwide genetic variation are compatible with the trends predicted by a serial founder model, in which populations expand outward from an initial source via a process in which new populations contain only subsets of the genetic diversity present in their parental populations. Here, we provide analytical results for key quantit...

SIMCOAL: a general coalescent program for the simulation of molecular data in interconnected populations with arbitrary demography.

SIMCOAL (version 1.0) is a computer program for the simulation of molecular genetic diversity in an arbitrary number of haploid populations examined for a set of fully linked loci. It is based on the retrospective coalescent approach initially described by Kingman (1982a,b), and clearly exposed in a series of other articles (Donnelly and Tavaré 1995; Ewens 1990; Hudson 1990). The coalescent bac...

SIMCOAL 2.0: a program to simulate genomic diversity over large recombining regions in a subdivided population with a complex history

UNLABELLED We present an extension of the program SIMCOAL, which allows for simulation of the genomic diversity of samples drawn from a set of populations with arbitrary patterns of migrations and complex demographic histories, including bottlenecks and various modes of demographic expansion. The main additions to the previous version include the possibility of arbitrary and heterogeneous recom...

Reference Values for Serum Total Cholesterol Concentrations Using Percentile Regression Model: A Population Study in Mashhad

Background and Purpose: Serum total cholesterol (TC) concentrations are affected by several factors including ethnicity, diet, geographic, and environmental determinants, and are related to another disease, including hypothyroidism, and renal and liver disease. It is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, particularly if associated with high levels of serum low-density lip...

Facies Modeling of Heterogeneous Carbonates Reservoirs by Multiple Point Geostatistics

Facies modeling is an essential part of reservoir characterization. The connectivity of facies model is very critical for the dynamic modeling of reservoirs. Carbonate reservoirs are so heterogeneous that variogram-based methods like sequential indicator simulation are not very useful for facies modeling. In this paper, multiple point geostatistics (MPS) is used for facies modeling in one of th...
